Chuck Moeller has lived in Georgia since 1978, following his graduation from Kutztown University in Berks Co, PA where he received a degree in art education. In 1982, Chuck also received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from Savannah College of Art and Design.
He interned in NYC with Grey Falcon graphic studio and did freelance graphic in addition to his career as an art educator. For 29 years he taught art as Richmond Hill High School and also served as the chairman of the art department. Chuck has been in the yearly Arts on the Coast art shows for the past 10 years and served on its's committee.
Using light, color, texture as well as a collage technique, Chuck utilizes coastal Georgia as his inspiration. He works primarily with oil paint and non-traditional materials. For the past 25 years, he lived with a view of St. Catherine's sound, which provided his inspiration for coastal scenes.
During that time, he moved and restored a 1930's gas station and luncheonette to his property and raised his family, two daughters who are following their father's footsteps in art. Since his retirement, he has experimented with different techniques that demonstrate his love for mixing old and new. When he's not in his studio painting, you can find him restoring his historic Savannah home, where he recently moved back to this past year.
